Cannot Open Certificate Store When DN Contains Special Characters (320662)

When you use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in to try to view a user's published certificates and the user's DN contains a special character (such as '#' or '?'), the operation may not work, and you may receive the following error message:
The certificate store cannot be opened. Published certificates will not be displayed.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, do not use a special character (such as '#' or '?') to name organizational units and users if you need to use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in to view a user's published certificates.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
