You Cannot Take DFS Replica Members Offline (320661)

SYMPTOMS

If you try to take a Distributed File System (DFS) link replica member offline while the server that hosts the replica member is not available, the operation may not succeed. The replica appears to be offline in the DFS Administrator tool, but referrals to the replica set still include the unavailable server.

CAUSE

To take the replica offline, the administrator's computer must be able to contact the server.

RESOLUTION
