A developer can use a source plug-in to implement their own storage system for Windows Media files. The Windows Media Format SDK 7.0 Help file incorrectly states that you must add the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows Media\WMSDK\sources

The correct registry key is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Media\WMSDK\Sources
