XL: Excel Quits Unexpectedly When You Use Histograms with Certain File Names (320534)

When you add a histogram from the Analysis Toolpak, you receive application errors, and Microsoft Excel quits unexpectedly.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if your file name is similar to a cell reference, such as "A1 A". The problem occurs because of the way the Analysis Toolpak handles certain file names.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use an underscore in the file name, such as "A1_A", or otherwise change the file name so that it does not resemble a cell reference.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
