D3D Error
Rendering device does not support 32-bit color depth. Try changing desktop resolution to 16-bit color depth.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur if, in Windows Control Panel, the Display setting for color depth is set too high.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow the steps in the order given.
Reduce the Color Depth Setting to High Color (16-Bit)- NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Display.
- Click the Settings tab, and then click High Color (16-bit) in the Color quality list.
- Click OK.
- If you are prompted to keep these settings, click Yes.
Method 2: Turn Off DirectDraw Acceleration- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
- On the Display tab, click the Disable button next to "DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled".
- Click OK, and then click Exit.
When DirectDraw has been turned off, the Arnold Palmer Course Designer will use Windows assisted DirectDraw functionality. This may cause games that require hardware DirectDraw and Direct3D functionality to stop. Restore DirectDraw functionality before you try to play Links 2001 or other games.
