Stub Not Found for EmbedFlatHTMLConsole in WBCSite_RT.inc (320056)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 SP1
  • Microsoft Content Management Server 2002

This article was previously published under Q320056

SYMPTOMS

When a user accesses a Content Management Server site that uses the EmbedFlatHTMLConsole function, if authoring is disabled on the site, users may receive a script error message that is similar to the following error message:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'
Variable is undefined: 'EmbedFlatHTMLConsole'
/NR/exeres/00000047auofjbkofeouibzj/Sample.asp, line 28

CAUSE

When authoring is disabled, Content Management Server uses the runtime versions of its include files that have an "_RT" in the file name. These files contain stubbed out versions of Web Browser Client (WBC) functions that are used when the user edits a site. When authoring is disabled on a site, the WBC functions are not required and are stubbed to improve performance.

If a site uses the EmbedFlatHTMLConsole functions, the user may receive an error message that states that this variable is undefined.
