Frieze Error Codes in MS Paintbrush Version 1.00 (32026)

SUMMARY

The following is a list of the Frieze error codes as returned from the Frieze version that came with Paintbrush Version 1.00.

The computer will also beep if the fault condition occurs.

The error codes are as follows:

 0  No error
 1  User terminated printout with the ESC key
 2  DOS re-entrancy conflict
 3  File-read error
 4  File-write error
 5  File not found on restore
 6  Bad header (not a picture) or cannot create file (save)
 7  File-close error
 8  Disk error (usually door open)
 9  Printer error (out of paper, printer off, etc.)
10  Invalid command (program only)
11  Can't create file (write-protect tab or disk full)

In versions of Frieze earlier than MS Paintbrush Version 1.00, codes 9 and 11 are not used. In these versions, code 4 indicates a file-write error or a printer error, and code 6 indicates a bad header or can't-create-file error.
