SYMPTOMS

When you add a footnote reference to text in a table with right-to-left orientation, the footnotes are correctly numbered right-to-left in each cell, but the cells are incorrectly processed left-to-right.

NOTE: This behavior can occur in a document that is written in a right-to-left language, such as Arabic or Hebrew.

For example, the following tables show how the problem appears.

The table is displayed this way.

(1)txet cibarA(3)txet (2)cibarA
(4)txet cibarA(5)txet cibarA

The table should appear this way.

(3)txet cibarA(2)txet (1)cibarA
(5)txet cibarA(4)txet cibarA

RESOLUTION

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 2002.
