SYMPTOMS

You cannot use duplicate connection names in the Pocket PC 2002 Connection Manager tool. If you try to create a new connection and use an existing name, you receive the following error message:
A connection already exists with this name

CAUSE

This problem may occur because when you delete a connection setting, existing connection entries that are associated with it are orphaned.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, delete any connection entry that is associated with a connection setting before you delete the actual connection setting.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
