SYMPTOMS

The Dllhost.exe process may stop responding and may consume no CPU time when a Microsoft COM+ application is configured as Queued and Listening and the idle shutdown time is set. Additionally, COM+ may try to close the application because the idle shutdown time limit is reached.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a COM+ application has been configured as Queued and Listening and the idle shutdown time is set, and when non-queued component calls have been made to the application between the time the queued component was first activated and the time the idle shutdown begins.

Note The idle shutdown time in COM+ applications is set with the ShutdownAfter property.
