CAUSE
A critical section object that is internal to a Windows Briefcase component may be deinitialized when a program is terminated, if Explorer is not the first process to use it. This component is invoked when a shortcut menu is created for a shell object, to verify whether or not the item path is owned by the Briefcase.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem after you start Windows, right-click any desktop file or folder to view its shortcut menu, before the normal use of your programs. You can then press ESC or left-click the desktop to remove the shortcut menu.
