MORE INFORMATION

A value of 0xb5 in the following registry key turns off the AutoRun feature for CDs:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoDriveTypeAutoRun

Microsoft does not recommend that you use the following registry key to turn off the AutoPlay feature:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom\Autorun

The real function of this registry key is to turn on or off the media change notification.
