This article was previously published under Q319102 SYMPTOMS
If you add certificates to the directory, and if the add request contains the ";binary" (without the quotation marks) tag, the ";binary" attribute is appended to all certificates. If you try to search Active Directory by using the ";binary" tag, the directory search returns no results (whether or not the record was added with the ";binary" attribute).
CAUSE
The ";binary" search option is truncated by a Windows 2000-based Active Directory Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server or Windows 2000-based LDAP client. Therefore, an Active Directory search with the ";binary" option returns no results.
