Under certain conditions while you are completing remote administration tasks on a Windows 2000 Server-based computer that is running the SMTP service, the SMTP performance counters for the remote computer may cease to appear.
CAUSE
This problem may be caused by an inability to access performance counter configuration information from the Windows registry.
