Authors Can Delete Folders That Contain Files Checked Out by a Coordinator (319040)

SYMPTOMS

A coordinator can create a folder in a workspace and add authors to the folder. If the coordinator checks out a document in that folder, the authors cannot delete that file. However, an author on the folder can delete the folder itself. This means that the author deletes the contents of that folder, including the files that are checked out by a coordinator.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
