The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
Date Time Version Size File name
--------------------------------------------------------
27-Feb-2002 10:19 5.0.2195.4985 135,952 Dnsapi.dll
27-Feb-2002 10:19 5.0.2195.4985 95,504 Dnsrslvr.dll
WORKAROUND
Because the records are not directly useable by the client, the records should not be queried from a remote computer. WINSR records are designed for internal DNS server usage, to make reverse lookup of WINS-only clients possible for DNS-only-based clients.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
