BUG: A folder is deleted when you copy Web project in Visual Studio .NET (318884)

This article was previously published under Q318884 SYMPTOMS When you use Visual Studio .NET to create or to copy a Web
application, a folder that already exists with the same name in the default
wwwroot folder is deleted, along with the contents of this folder.
RESOLUTION To work around this problem, you can use a utility to
redirect activity on the folder. For example, you can use the Linkd.exe utility
from the Microsoft Windows 2000 Resource Kit to redirect input/output (I/O)
activity for the affected folder to another location. This workaround requires
that the affected folder is on an NTFS file system partition. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft
products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
