FIX: Incorrect Values with Queued Updating Replication When Money Values Are Between 0 and 1 (318870)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (all editions)

This article was previously published under Q318870
BUG #: 356723 (SHILOH_BUGS)
BUG #: 356740 (SHILOH_BUGS)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a queued updating replication on a simple table with a money data type column, you receive incorrect results when you insert or update a money value between 0 and 1 on the subscriber. Incorrect results means that the inserted or updated value is shifted four digits to the left on the publisher. For example, 0.34 becomes 3400.0000. It makes no difference if the queue is a SQL Server 2000 queue or a Microsoft Message queue.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use the decimal or numeric data type instead of the money data type in the replication.
