The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2002
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 SP4
This article was previously published under Q318742 SYMPTOMS If you try to view a Calendar that has a corrupted First Day Of Week field in a recurring meeting, Outlook 2002 stops responding
(hangs). CAUSE This problem occurs because of a problem in Collaboration
Data Objects (CDO) that causes the corrupted data to be placed in the recurring
meetings. This problem was fixed by a CDO hotfix in the following Microsoft
Knowledge Base article: 281935 XADM: CDO Can Corrupt Data in Recurring Appointments
Apply the hotfix that is in the
"Resolution" section of this article to Outlook 2002, and it masks the loop
that is caused by the bad data so that you have access to the Calendar while
you apply the Microsoft Exchange Server hotfix on your server. Therefore, you
must apply the hotfix in this article to the Microsoft Outlook client first,
and then apply the hotfix for the Exchange Server. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest
service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the
