The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server SP1
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server SP2

This article was previously published under Q318648

SYMPTOMS

The Migration Wizard has a command-line option. Information about its use and how to create the control file is documented in the Exchange System Manager Help file (Exadmin.chm). The Help file topic on control files includes the following section:

Accounts - A user list file with a listing of accounts to be migrated. The format of the names in the accounts file must match the name format as it appears in the Full Name column of the Migration Wizard Account Migration screen. Each name is on one line and is followed by a carriage return and line feed.

However, if you use the Full Name, you receive the following error message:
Event Type:	Warning
Event Source:	MSExchangeMig
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	10012
Date: 4/23/2002
Time: 3:49:24 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ComputerName
Description: The Accounts file entry 'User One' could not be found in the user list.

CAUSE

The Help file is incorrect. You must use the directory name of the mailbox instead of the Full Name.

RESOLUTION

Use mailbox aliases to create the Accounts file. Separate the aliases with a carriage return and line feed, for example:

UserO
UserT
UserTh
UserF
