SCM Microsystems Version of the Iconfig.dll File Causes an Error Message in Windows XP (318411)

SYMPTOMS

When you are using an SCM Microsystems product, you may receive the following error message:
Explorer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you view the data that the error report contains, you may receive the following error signature information:
   App Name      App Version  Module Name  Module Version  Offset
   ----------------------------------------------------------------
   Explorer.exe  6.0.2600.0   Iconfig.dll  4.0.0.3         00001767
				

CAUSE

This issue may occur if your computer uses the version of the Iconfig.dll file that is provided by some SCM Microsystems products. The Iconfig.dll file that is provided by some SCM Microsystems products is not completely compatible with Windows XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain and install the most current Windows Compatibility Update from the Critical Updates section of the following Microsoft Web site:
