Cannot Use the InstallMcsApps Folder to Deploy Software to Agents (318311)

Files that you copy into the %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Operations Manager 2000\OnePoint\InstallMcsApps folder are copied down to the agent on installation by the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2000 Agent Manager. However, you cannot use this process to deliver software to agent computers.
CAUSE
The use of the %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Operations Manager 2000\OnePoint\InstallMcsApps folder to transfer files to the MOM agent is only supported when you use it to transfer MOM-related files and configuration information. There is no support for using the process that is described in the "Symptoms" section of this article to deliver software to agent computers.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
