MSIEXEC caused an Invalid Page Fault in KERNEL32.DLL

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, start Microsoft Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and services. This process, also known as a clean boot, provides as stable an installation environment as possible in which to install Visio. After you perform a clean boot, copy the contents of the Visio compact disc to a new folder on your computer's hard disk, and then run Visio Setup from this location. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Windows Explorer, and then create a new folder on your computer's hard disk.
  2. Insert the Visio compact disc into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
  3. In Windows Explorer, browse to the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive that contains the Visio compact disc, and then copy the contents of the disc to the folder that you created in step 1.
  4. Quit Windows Explorer.
