After you install Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2), the performance of Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) may substantially decrease. Note that this problem only occurs on multiprocessor computers where MSMQ is experiencing a high level of throughput.
CAUSE
This problem may occur because a performance regression exists in Windows 2000 SP2 that did not exist in earlier versions of Windows 2000.
