Tracking Identity Event Causes Leak in Dllhost.exe (318204)

SYMPTOMS

When you track the Identity event in a COM+ application by using an instrumentation sample such as COMSpy, the Comsvcs.dll file may leak memory in the Dllhost.exe file of the application.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the CIISReqVal objects that are used to report information to Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) are created but are never freed. This problem occurs even when the Dllhost.exe file is not an IIS application.

RESOLUTION
