PRB: You Have to Reinstall the Windows 2000 Service Pack After You Add the Site Server ILS Service (318190)

SYMPTOMS

If you use Add/Remove programs to install the Microsoft Site Server Internet Locator Server (ILS) Service on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later installed, the status of the service is displayed as running and the configuration tools seems to work, but NetMeeting clients cannot connect to it.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, reinstall the Windows 2000 service pack.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
