Error Message: Setup Cannot Uninstall Windows XP Because the Backup Image Was Created in the Future (318029)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, set the system date later than the date listed for the "Created" date of the Undo folder, and then remove Windows XP. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. Click to clear the Hide protected operating system files check box.
   
   NOTE: When the Warning dialog box appears, click OK.
5. Under Hidden files and folders (in the Advanced Settings list), click Show Hidden Files and Folders, click Apply, and then click OK.
6. In Windows Explorer, click Local Disk (C:).
7. Right-click the Undo folder, and then click Properties.
8. Make note of the date and time listed in the Created row of the Undo Properties dialog box.
9. Double-click the time display in the notification area (on the taskbar).
10. In the Date and Time Properties dialog box, change the settings to reflect a date and time later than the "Created" date and time settings of the Undo folder.
11. Click Apply, and then click OK.
12. Remove Windows XP from your computer.
13. When you restart your computer, reset your system Date and Time properties to reflect the correct date and time.
