Content Filtering with ISA Server May Return HTTP Error 502 on Some Web Sites (317798)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
This article was previously published under Q317798 SYMPTOMS
If you use a Site and Content rule to allow access to only selected content groups, Web Proxy clients may receive HTTP error 502 with a status of "12202" when users browse some Web sites. This behavior may occur even if all of the available content groups are selected in the Site and Content rule.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if the Web server does not properly implement Request for Comments (RFC) 2616 for HTTP 302 redirections. The Web server returns an HTTP 302 redirection with no body and no content type. The redirection is rejected because Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server is allowing only selected content types.
