- the operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000
This article was previously published under Q317676 SYMPTOMS
In Exchange 2000, if you set a Prohibit post limit on a public information store database, and then try to post to a public folder that has already reached the limit that you set, you may receive the following error message if you use an Outlook Web Access (OWA) client computer:
You have exceeded the storage limit on your mailbox. Delete some mail from your mailbox or contact your system administrator to adjust your storage limit.
If you try to either post a message to a public folder that makes the folder exceed the limit or attach a file that exceeds the limit even before you post the message, you may receive a different error message if you use the OWA client:
This item exceeds the maximum size defined for this folder and cannot be saved. Contact your administrator to have the folder limits increased.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
