After you install the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article, a logical disk on an extended partition may be displayed incorrectly as a primary partition in the Disk Management tool:

CAUSE
This problem occurs because Logical Disk Manager uses cached information to set up the partition information.
