WD2000: Error Messages When You Finish Update of Direct Mail Manager (317568)

SYMPTOMS

After you finish the update of your version of Microsoft Direct Mail Manager (DMM), you may receive one or more of the following error messages:
Error loading string 50524 from language dll.
-or-
The string missing does not contain defaultmailmethod which indicates a localization error.
-or-
Error loading string 40000 from language dll.
-or-
Error loading string 40040 from language dll., "Can't quit", the string missing does not contain, default mail method = which indicates a localization error, "error loading string".

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Dmmlintl.dll file is an older-version file than the version of Direct Mail Manager that is installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Click OK to close all of the error messages you received.
  2. Quit Microsoft Direct Mail Manager.
  3. To download the Dmmlintl.dll file from the Envelope Manager Software Web site, click the following link:

    ftp://ftp.envmgr.com/DMM/DMMlintl.dll

    Save the file to the following location:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\SBT\DMM

    NOTE: The location where DMM is installed may be different on your computer. Be sure to save the Dmmlintl.dll file to your DMM folder. The Dmmlintl.dll file that is downloaded from the Envelope Manager Software Web site is backward-compatible with all 2.x versions of DMM.
  4. If you are prompted with the following message, click Yes:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\SBT\DMM\DMMlintl.dll already exists. Do you want to replace it?

  5. To close the Download Complete dialog box, click Close.
