FIX: The calculated member that uses the ValidMeasure function may return an incorrect value in a virtual cube (317562)

SYMPTOMS

When a custom rule is defined on a dimension of a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services virtual cube, and if a calculated member of the virtual cube uses the ValidMeasure function, the calculated member may return incorrect data.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the user account that is used to connect to the Analysis Services virtual cube is not a member of the OLAP administrators group.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Note The following hotfix was created before the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3.
