SYMPTOMS

If you use the PowerDVD decoder, you may receive the following error message:
Wmplayer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you view the data that the error report contains, the following error signature information is listed:

CAUSE

This error message may occur if you use a version of PowerDVD earlier than version 3.5. These versions are not compatible with Windows XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, please contact CyberLink (the manufacturer of PowerDVD) to obtain an upgrade for PowerDVD.
