BizTalk Server Editor May Not Load Imported IDOC Schemas (317067)

SYMPTOMS

When you import an Intermediate Document (IDOC) schema that begins with a numeric character from SAP, and you then attempt to load the IDOC schema in the BizTalk Server 2000 Editor, you may receive the following error message:
The file C:\ARTMAS01.xml could not be properly opened. Reason: A name was started with an invalid character.

CAUSE

The BizTalk Server 2000 Editor does not support attributes that start with a numeric character.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack or version that contains this hotfix.
