FIX: Complex Linked Server Query May Cause Handled AV in COleDbParams::ClearParamBuf (317015)

This article was previously published under Q317015 BUG #: 356461 (SHILOH_BUGS) SYMPTOMS A complex linked server query may cause a handled access
violation exception in the COleDbParams::ClearParamBuf function. The access violation causes the client connection that
submitted the query to terminate and is documented in the SQL Server error log.
RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, obtain the latest
service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click

SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3. The English version of this fix

NOTE: Because of file dependencies, the most recent hotfix or feature
that contains the files may also contain additional

2000 Service Pack 3.
