PPP may stop responding (hang) or fail authentication in Windows CE (316888)

SYMPTOMS

You may experience one or both of the following issues when you run Microsoft Windows CE:
  • Windows CE may stop responding (hang) when an invalid PPP frame is received.
  • Authentication protocol requests may be sent after authentication has already been accepted for another protocol. Therefore, authentication may fail.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

Prerequisites

This fix is supported only when all previously issued fixes for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this fix.
