  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

This article was previously published under Q316688

SYMPTOMS

A program may quit unexpectedly when you use source content that has not been encoded by using certain non-Microsoft codecs (for example, DivX).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact the codec supplier to obtain a later version of the codec that you used to encode the source file. If the problem continues to occur when you use the latest version of the codec, consider encoding the source content again by using a different codec.
