SYMPTOMS

When you are using Internet Explorer after you install a version of Comet Systems "Comet Cursor" that is earlier than version 4.0, you may receive the following error message:
Iexplore.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If the error message is still displayed and you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information that may be similar to the following:
   App name       App version   Module name   Module version    Offset
   --------------------------------------------------------------------
   iexplore.exe   6.0.2600.0    cscore.dll    3.71.282.237      Various
   iexplore.exe   6.0.2600.0    cscore.dll    <less than 4.0>   Various
				

CAUSE

This issue may occur if some components of Comet Cursor are still installed on your computer, or you are using a version of Comet Cursor that is not completely compatible with Internet Explorer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain and install the latest version of Comet Cursor. WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, remove the Comet Cursor program or turn off all third-party browser helper objects.

To remove the Comet Cursor program, use the appropriate method.

Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Click the Comet-Comet Cursor entry, and then click Change/Remove.

Versions of Windows That Are Earlier than Windows XP

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Click the Comet-Comet Cursor entry, and then click Add/Remove Programs.
