This article was previously published under Q316074 SYMPTOMS If you log on to a multiple-user Macintosh-based computer
that is running either OS 9.0.4 or 9.1, you cannot use Microsoft User
Authentication Module (UAM) to connect to a Windows Server 2003-based server.
When you start Chooser, click Appleshare, click the Windows Server 2003-based server, and then click Microsoft UAM, you are returned immediately to Chooser. Microsoft UAM does not
open. CAUSE This issue can occur if your account is configured to have
limited access. Microsoft UAM items are displayed as documents in
Macintosh-based computers. If you have limited access, the documents must be
shared out from the group Shared folder and added to the Allowed list for you
to access it. However, if the administrator shares out the Microsoft UAM item
and adds the object to the Allowed list, the item is treated as a strict
document, and it cannot find the program that created it. WORKAROUND According to the Macintosh Help center, some programs and
documents do not work for limited users. If you find one of the programs or
documents that does not work, it is recommended that you ask the administrator
to change your status from a limited user to a normal user to work around this
issue. MORE INFORMATIONThe
