BUG: Visual Studio .NET Analyzer does not function on computers running Windows NT 4.0 until system restart (316069)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Visual Studio .NET Analyzer on a computer running Windows NT 4.0, the Analyzer program cannot collect events until you restart the computer.

CAUSE

Internal COM mechanisms require that you restart the computer, but a prompt to restart the computer does not appear.

RESOLUTION

After you run Visual Studio .NET Analyzer Setup on a computer running Windows NT 4.0, restart the computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
