SYMPTOMS

When you remove a row field or a column field from an Office XP PivotTable Web Component, data may be unexpectedly dropped from the table. When you view the table in Microsoft Excel 2002, you can see that data for that member does exist.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if a hierarchy has an empty All member, but some measure for this All member is not empty.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The functionality of the Office Web Component PivotTable assumes that an All member will never be empty, unless all of its children are empty. The problem occurs when a cube violates this assumption. The fix for this issue works, as long as the hierarchy that has an empty All member is the outmost hierarchy on the axis. If you place any other member outside the All member, the behavior described in the "Symptoms" section of this article still occurs.
