CPU Usage in Lsass.exe Increases When You Run netDeploy (315980)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server
This article was previously published under Q315980 SYMPTOMSCPU usage in Lsass.exe may reach 100 percent on your Windows
2000-based domain controller. Of this, 20 percent is % Privileged Time, and 80
percent is % User Time. When you view the NTDS performance object in the
performance log during the time when CPU usage spikes at 100 percent, an
unexpectedly high number of directory searches per second is logged by the DS
Directory Search/sec counter.CAUSEThis issue may occur if both of the following conditions
exist:
- The ManageSoft Corporation "netDeploy" version 5.51
software management program is installed and running on client computers.
- The number of LDAP queries that are generated by the
netDeploy program on the client computers results in 100 percent usage of CPU
resources on the domain controller.
