XCCC: If You Delete the Primary User Account the Wireless Account May Still Exist (315885)

SYMPTOMS

If you delete the primary user account, the wireless account is not removed if you are using a Microsoft Mobile Information Server computer that has an account topology that uses wireless accounts (either in the same domain that has the "-w" suffix or in an auxiliary domain).

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you grant the user wireless access and you delete the primary user account. The wireless account still exists.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, you must manually delete the wireless account if you deleted the primary user account while the user was granted wireless access. The wireless account is only removed when you remove wireless access for the user by means of the Wireless Mobility tab, which is located in the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. To avoid this behavior, remove the user's wireless access before you remove the primary user account from Active Directory.
