XCCC: Error Message: The Evaluation Version of MMIS 2001 Has Expired (315607)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install the evaluation edition of Microsoft Mobile Information Server on a computer that previously had the evaluation edition installed, you may receive the following error message:
The evaluation version of MMIS 2001 has expired. You must uninstall this version before installing the retail version.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior and upgrade to the retail edition of Mobile Information Server, remove the evaluation edition, and then run setup program that is included on the retail edition CD-ROM.
