XCCC: Mobile Information Server ISA Filter Continues to Filter Traffic After You Remove It (315076)

SYMPTOMS

When you remove the Mobile Information Server 2002 Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server filter (also known as the Mobile Information Server ISA filter) from the ISA Server computer, the filter remains in memory and scans incoming Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) requests until you manually restart the ISA Server Web Proxy service (or until this service is restarted when you restart the server).

CAUSE

The issue occurs because the Web Proxy service is not restarted when you remove the Mobile Information Server ISA filter.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, manually restart the Web Proxy service.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The symptoms that are described in the "Symptoms" section of this article do not cause any problems or affect the functionality of the ISA Server computer. You can restart the Web Proxy service at any time to remove the Mobile Information Server ISA filter from memory.
