SYMPTOMS

If you use an adapter to connect your Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 1.0 to a PS/2 port or a serial port, the mouse is not detected.

CAUSE

The Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 1.0 is compatible with Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports only. The Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 1.0 is not compatible with PS/2 ports or serial ports.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, connect the Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 1.0 directly to a USB port on your computer.

MORE INFORMATION

The newer version, Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 (also called Wireless Intellimouse Explorer with Tilt Wheel), is compatible with both USB and PS/2 ports.
