The DVD-ROM Drive Ejects the Disc While You Are Copying Files (314680)

This article was previously published under Q314680 SYMPTOMS While you are copying files to a DVD-RAM disc, or to a
CD-RW disc that uses the Mount Rainier format, a program may eject the disc
while the file copy is in progress by issuing an Eject request to the drive.
This may corrupt the data you are copying. This may occur even if the eject
button on the front panel of the drive is locked (disabled).CAUSE This problem may occur if the FAT file system driver
(Fastfat.sys) does not fully lock the media in the drive. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
