SYMPTOMS

When you click the Inventory option for a CD-ROM Library, Removable Storage creates Inventory and Identify Media entries in the Work Queue, even if there is no CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

On a CD changer, Removable Storage creates Identify Media work items only for the media that are found in the slots. However, on a standalone drive, Removable Storage creates a work item, regardless of whether there is a CD in the drive.
