SYMPTOMS

When you use ARCserve 2000 as a backup mechanism, ARCserve 2000 may not back up all of the files in certain folders. Specifically, Windows File Protection files are not backed up, even though you select them for backup.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

It is not technically feasible to back up individual Windows File Protection files. Windows File Protection files are protected by the system and are backed up by system state. You cannot restore these files because they are protected by the system. The only way to accomplish backup of these files is by the use of system state backup.

To accomplish a backup of the whole system for failure recovery, back up the system state and the boot and system volumes as recommended by failure-recovery best practices.
