SYMPTOMS

A complex multi-threaded program that runs for a long time under stress and that makes extensive use of the MSXML 3.0 parser may generate an access violation error. The call stack for the crash that your program experiences is as follows:

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of a rare concurrency bug.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
